Rubber Statistical Bulletin

The Rubber Statistical Bulletin is published on a bimonthly basis and reports authoritative rubber statistics. Data is, in general, reported in monthly format and is available by country. The broad areas of statistical reporting can be categorised as follows:

  • Natural rubber production (NR), consumption, trade (imports and exports), stocks and prices;
  • NR imports by type and by origin for major consuming countries;
  • Natural rubber exports by type and grade for major producing countries;
  • Current rubber positions and exports of NR by destination for key producing nations;
  • NR latex and consumption statistics;
  • Synthetic rubber production (SR), consumption, trade (imports and exports), stocks and prices;
  • SR exports by destination for leading manufacturing nations
  • Rubber (NR and SR) consumption by major sector: tyre versus non-tyre sectors;
  • Statistics of tyre production and trade by major country, as well as indices of production of general rubber goods;
  • NR prices split between physical and futures markets;
  • Export unit values of principal varieties of SR, and spot and contract prices of SBR and BR, in various markets.

Outlook for Elastomers

This publication provides the Study Group's latest authoritative, in-depth analysis of production and consumption of elastomers for the previous year with estimates and forecasts for the current year, and the next year, respectively. Accompanying the IRSG's assessments, are official statements provided by Member and Non-member governments concerning their rubber and related industries as well as the report/proceedings of the Statistical Committee. This publication is produced annually, following the IRSG’s Annual Group Meeting or Assembly.

World Rubber Statistics Handbook (Volume 6, 1975-2001)

Published every 4 years or so, this extensive reference book covers all aspects of the world elastomer economy and associated rubber products such as tyres, cars and commercial vehicles. It contains authoritative statistics on the production, consumption and trade in natural and synthetic rubber as reported in the bimonthly Rubber Statistical Bulletin, including revisions to data series back to 1975. Prices for natural rubber (excluding latex) are provided, together with export unit values of SR.

In addition to statistics on natural and synthetic rubber, the publication provides statistics on vehicle production and new registrations, vehicles in use, as well as tyre production for about 40 countries, classified into car and commercial vehicles. This information provides a comprehensive view of the development of over 90% of the world’s vehicle and tyre industries since 1975.

Earlier versions of the World Rubber Statistics Handbook are available which cover years prior to 1975.

World Rubber Statistics Historic Handbook

This document brings together all available statistics on natural and synthetic rubber for all major countries of the world from 1900 to 1960.

As well as data on production, consumption, stocks and trade in elastomers there are statistics on vehicle production and vehicles in use since 1900 for all major countries with detailed statistics from the mid-1920s. All published data on car and commercial vehicle tyre production from 1910 are also reported.

An extensive appendix gives available natural rubber production and export data as well as natural rubber prices from 1822.
