Election of the new Chairperson and Vice Chairperson of the IAP

Mr Enrico Lucchese (Versalis) and Mr Kenji Kurata (JATMA) elected IRSG’s IAP Chairperson and Vice Chairperson.

The International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) is pleased to announce the election of Mr Enrico Lucchese (Versalis) as Chairperson of the Group’s Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) for the period 2019-2021. Mr Kenji Kurata (Japan Automobile Tyre Manufacturers Association – JATMA) has been elected Vice Chairperson. The Industry Advisory Panel (IAP), formed by 30 industry representatives, provides valuable views and recommendations to be implemented in the IRSG’s Secretariat work programme and it is an important channel of communication with input from all side of the rubber sector, including industry, commerce, academy, research and technology.

Mr Enrico Lucchese

Mr Enrico Lucchese, is Marketing Manager for Tyre, Styrenics Modification, & Latex within the Elastomers Business Unit at Versalis Spa, petrochemical branch of Eni Oil group.

In his 30 years career within the petrochemical industry, Mr Lucchese has been extensively involved in both technical services and product management processes, until he moved on to oversee the SBR, BR and TPR businesses within Versalis.

Besides his contribution to Versalis, Mr Lucchese is a member of the Executive Committee of the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IISRP) and Vice Chairman of the EMEA Statistical Section of IISRP. In the year 2017-18 Mr Lucchese has covered the position of President International of IISRP.

Mr Kenji Kurata

Mr Kenji Kurata is Executive Director of the Japan Automobile Tyre Manufacturers Association (JATMA). Mr. Kurata has extensive Government experience having worked for many years in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) where he has gained experiences in various positions related to industries, technology, energy and environment.

Mr. Kurata has covered the position of Deputy Director-General for Planning and Management at National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). He has also served as the President of New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO). Mr Kurata is a visiting professor at the Hokkaido University.
