Latest World Rubber Industry Outlook now available from IRSG

The Secretariat of the International Rubber Study Group (IRSG) publishes comprehensive data on production, consumption, trade and prices – covering both natural rubber (NR) and synthetic rubber (SR) – on a biannual basis the World Rubber Industry Outlook presents the latest long-term forecasts for the next ten years, covering the world economy as well as the vehicle, tyre and rubber sectors.

The June edition of the World Rubber Industry Outlook (WRIO) is now available from the IRSG. There are three economic (IMF, Downside and Upside) scenarios for the June 2018 WRIO.

The world total rubber consumption is forecast to increase by 3.4% to 29.39 million tonnes in 2018, marginally above the 3.3% growth in 2017 under the IMF Scenario. Total rubber consumption is expected to increase further by 2.5% to 30.12 million tonnes in 2019.

World NR demand is forecast to increase by 3.5% to 13.68 million tonnes in 2018 and further by 3.0% to 14.09 million tonnes in 2019 under the IMF Scenario.

World SR demand is expected to increase by 3.4% to 15.71 million tonnes in 2018 and further by 2.0% to 16.03 million tonnes in 2019 under the IMF Scenario.
