IRSG is pleased to announce that two more organisations Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corporation and Kumho Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (KKPC) have joined the IRSG Panel of Associates:
Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corporation
Asahi Kasei Chemicals is a subsidiary of the holding company Asahi Kasei Corporation. Its core business covers chemicals and polymers including the manufacture of several rubber and thermoplastic elastomers. The major types include polybutadiene rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, styrenic elastomer (SBS, SEBS) and clear styrene-butadiene copolymer (SBC).
In December 2011, Asahi Kasei Chemicals finalised a decision to construct a second plant in Singapore to produce solution-polymerized styrene-butadiene rubber (S-SBR), with planned capacity of 50,000 tons/year. The new plant will be located adjacent to the S-SBR plant of the same capacity which is currently under construction.
